Reaching Hotel

Most people drive down to the Jersey Shore because it is a drivable destination. If you are coming from the north (New York/Northern NJ) or even if you are coming from the south, get on the Garden State Parkway and take Exit 98. From there, catch Route 34 South through some famous-and-confusing traffic circles onto Route 35 and eventually Route 71. Twin Oaks Motel has classic signage that makes it quite easy to spot at the side of the road. Feeder road traffic warning: On Friday afternoons in July and August this very specific set of feeder roads experiences heavy traffic. Arrive accordingly.

For those traveling by public transit, the NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line Manasquan Train Station is located just about a mile from the motel. It’s totally walkable if you’re good at packing light (15 minutes), or a very quick Uber/taxi ride. The train goes directly into New York Penn Station as well as Newark Airport station. This makes the motel viable for city folks without cars who want a weekend beach escape-and check-in times that work with whatever late train they can catch down here.

The most logical airport is Newark Liberty International (EWR), about an hour north in good traffic. Alternative is Philadelphia International (PHL), about 90 minutes. Highly recommended to rent a car from either airport. While you can technically reach the motel by train, exploring the neighboring shore towns, grocery shopping, and getting to different beaches once you’re there is next to impossible without a vehicle.
